Leukemia inhibitory factor drives glucose metabolic reprogramming to promote breast tumorigenesis
LIF, a multifunctional cytokine, is frequently overexpressed in many types of solid tumors, including breast cancer, and plays an important role in promoting tumorigenesis. Currently, how LIF promotes tumorigenesis is not well-understood.

Model of light bullet propagation in LiF crystal
A numerical model is developed for simulation of the propagation of a light bullet in LiF crystal and the formation of a colored track. The model reproduces the previously observed longitudinal oscillations in the concentration of color centers in the ...

Trions in bulk LiF and at the LiF(001) surface [PDF]
We study the neutral and charged optical excitations (excitons and trion) in the prototypical wide-gap insulator LiF using the first-principles $GW/\mathrm{BSE}$ approach and its extension for trions. In addition to neutral excitons we find bound trion states with a trion binding energy of 20--30 meV.

Targeting LIF/LIFR signaling in cancer
Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), and its receptor (LIFR), are commonly over-expressed in many solid cancers and recent studies have implicated LIF/LIFR axis as a promising clinical target for cancer therapy.

Measurement of Slipper Behavior in Swashplate-Type Axial Piston Pumps
In swash plate type axial piston pumps, slipper/swash plate sliding surfaces is subject to high fluctuating load. Therefore, the slippers are required to provide stable operation and reduce losses due to sliding. The behavior of the slipper fluctuates in
