WiN-GUI: A graphical tool for neuron-based encoding

open access: yesSoftwareX
Neuromorphic computing relies on event-based, energy-efficient communication, inherently implying the need for conversion between real-valued (sensory) data and binary, sparse spiking representation.

Output Stream of Binding Neuron with Feedback

open access: yes, 2007
The binding neuron model is inspired by numerical simulation of Hodgkin-Huxley-type point neuron, as well as by the leaky integrate-and-fire model. In the binding neuron, the trace of an input is remembered for a fixed period of time after which it ...

Model of light bullet propagation in LiF crystal

open access: yesComputer Optics
A numerical model is developed for simulation of the propagation of a light bullet in LiF crystal and the formation of a colored track. The model reproduces the previously observed longitudinal oscillations in the concentration of color centers in the track and oscillations in the track width.

The Difference of Integrin ανβ3 Expression, Leukemia Inhibitory Factors and Superoxide Dismutase Serum Concentration in the Provision of Kebar Extract (Biophytum petersianum Klotczh), Metformin, and Their Combination to Mouse models of Endometriosis

open access: yesJournal of Biomedicine and Translational Research, 2018
Background: In endometriosis there is a decrease in endometrial receptivity. Kebar and Metformin grasses are expected to improve the condition of endometrial receptivity Objective: To find out whether there is any effect of giving Kebar grass extract ...

Determining the role of tumor-derived leukemia inhibitory factor in cancer cachexia using a genetic approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Cachexia is a multifactorial metabolic wasting syndrome that affects a large percentage of cancer patients and results in the involuntary loss of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue.

Optimal Boundary for Input Detection with LIF Neuronal Models

open access: yesBrainiacs Journal of Brain Imaging And Computing Sciences
We investigate information transmission in neuronal models based on Brownian motion and the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process, in which neuronal spiking times are modeled as first passage times through oscillating boundaries. Using both mutual information and mutual information per unit time as metrics, we analyze how boundary oscillation parameters and input

Creation of a panel of genetic markers for breeding of a large white breed pigs on the reproductive fitness

open access: yesАграрная наука Евро-Северо-Востока, 2017
The article presents studies of the effect of SNP of genes PRLR, LEP, ESR, FSHb, MC4R, LIF, POU1F1, GH on the reproductive performance of large white pigs. The analysis was carried out using linear models of mixed type.

BMPRII+ neural precursor cells isolated and characterized from organotypic neurospheres: an in vitro model of human fetal spinal cord development

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
Roof plate secretion of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) directs the cellular fate of sensory neurons during spinal cord development, including the formation of the ascending sensory columns, though their biology is not well understood.

TC-LIF: A Two-Compartment Spiking Neuron Model for Long-Term Sequential Modelling

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence
The identification of sensory cues associated with potential opportunities and dangers is frequently complicated by unrelated events that separate useful cues by long delays. As a result, it remains a challenging task for state-of-the-art spiking neural networks (SNNs) to establish long-term temporal dependency between distant cues.

Pharmacological inhibition of the LIF/LIFR autocrine loop reveals vulnerability of ovarian cancer cells to ferroptosis

open access: yesnpj Precision Oncology
Of all gynecologic cancers, epithelial-ovarian cancer (OCa) stands out with the highest mortality rates. Despite all efforts, 90% of individuals who receive standard surgical and cytotoxic therapy experience disease recurrence.
