Experimental investigation and thermodynamic modelling of LiF-NdF3-DyF3 system

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2018
Abstract Electrolysis of molten fluorides is one of the promising methods for the recovery and recycling of rare earth metals from used magnets. Due to the dearth of phase equilibria data for molten fluoride systems, thermodynamic modelling of LiF-DyF3-NdF3 system using the CALPHAD approach was carried out. Gibbs energy modelling for LiF-NdF3 and LiF-

Leukaemia inhibitory factor (LIF) production in a mouse model of spinal trauma

Neuroscience Letters, 1998
A model of spinal trauma was developed where spinal neurones of adult mice were exposed to the excitotoxic glutamate analogue beta-N-oxylamino-L-alanine (L-BOAA). After 24 h, the injured neurones received a single dose of [125I]-LIF at the same site of the spinal cord, and 2 h later, tissues were removed to assess the distribution of leukaemia ...

Theoretical modeling of photodissociation dynamics of CH3I on LiF(001)

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1993
A new method is developed for the simulation of atoms and molecules interacting with ionic surfaces. This approach, based on a quasi-two-dimensional Ewald sum and a two-dimensional Fourier transformation, is capable of evaluating the long-range Coulomb interactions for a semi-infinite ionic solid.

3-Pentanone LIF at elevated temperatures and pressures: measurements and modeling

Applied Physics B, 2007
The objective of this study is to investigate 3-pentanone fluorescence experiments in a constant volume vessel at high temperature and high pressure to underline the influent parameters in conditions close to those encountered in internal combustion engines. To obtain quantitative analysis, measured fluorescence signals must be corrected by considering

A versatile modeling tool for nitric oxide LIF spectra [PDF]

open access: possible, 2003
Quantitative analysis of laser induced fluorescence signals of nitric oxide requires a thorough implementation of the effects of temperature, quenching, laser and detection properties on the measured signals. Over the past years, LIF properties of nitric oxide were studied for a range of conditions, from well-controlled burners to internal combustion ...

Nonempirical calculations of models of interstitial defects in an LiF crystal

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1989
Models of interstitial Li+ and F− ions in an LiF crystal have been calculated by the nonempirical Hartree-Fock-Roothaan method with the 4-31G+ basis and with the aid of a nonempirical pairwise potential. It has been shown that the energies needed for the adiabatic transfer of Li+ and F− ions from infinity to interstitial positions in Li4F4 cubes are ...

Model calculations of electronic excitation of Li adsorbed on LiF(001)

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1991
An efficient method to solve the three-dimensional Schrödinger equation of an adsorbed atom on a rigid corrugated surface is presented. Formulas for calculating the Franck–Condon coefficients on two potential surfaces are given. Numerical results are obtained for a model of Li adsorbed on the LiF(001) surface.

Track Interaction Model for Supralinearity and Sensitization in LiF-TLD 100

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1983
Of the several models suggested for explaining supralinearity and sensitization in LiF-TLD 100, the track interaction model and the non-luminescent centres model are most satisfactory in explaining the experimental results. Objections have been raised against the track interaction model that it would predict to high sensitization and against its rapid ...
