Regional Models for Sentinel-2/MSI Imagery of Chlorophyll a and TSS, Obtained for Oligotrophic Issyk-Kul Lake Using High-Resolution LIF LiDAR Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
The development of regional satellite bio-optical models for natural waters with high temporal and spatial variability, such as inland seas, reservoirs, and coastal ocean waters, requires the implementation of an intermediate measuring link in the chain,

Spike Neural Models Part II: Abstract Neural Models [PDF]

open access: yesTutorials in Quantitative Methods for Psychology, 2018
Neurons are complex cells that require a lot of time and resources to model completely. In spiking neural networks (SNN) though, not all that complexity is required. Therefore simple, abstract models are often used.

Targeting LIF-mediated paracrine interaction for pancreatic cancer therapy and monitoring. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a dismal prognosis largely owing to inefficient diagnosis and tenacious drug resistance. Activation of pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) and consequent development of dense stroma are prominent features ...

Confocal Laser Induced Fluorescence with Comparable Spatial Localization to the Conventional Method

open access: yes, 2017
We present measurements of ion velocity distributions obtained by laser induced fluorescence (LIF) using a single viewport in an argon plasma. A patent pending design, which we refer to as the confocal fluorescence telescope, combines large objective ...

Reducing Open‐Circuit Voltage Losses in Wide‐Bandgap FAPbBr3 Perovskite Solar Cells for Continuous Unassisted Light‐Driven Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The combination of formamidinium thiocyanate and 1,3‐propane diammonium iodide for bulk and top‐surface passivation, and a ternary fullerene blend to improve energy band alignment, suppresses energy losses in wide‐bandgap FAPbBr3 perovskite solar cells.

Distributed synaptic weights in a LIF neural network and learning rules

open access: yes, 2017
Leaky integrate-and-fire (LIF) models are mean-field limits, with a large number of neurons, used to describe neural networks. We consider inhomogeneous networks structured by a connec-tivity parameter (strengths of the synaptic weights) with the effect ...

Exogenous Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Stimulates Oligodendrocyte Progenitor Cell Proliferation and Enhances Hippocampal Remyelination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
New CNS neurons and glia are generated throughout adulthood from endogenous neural stem and progenitor cells. These progenitors can respond to injury, but their ability to proliferate, migrate, differentiate, and survive is usually insufficient to ...

Photodissociation of HBr/LiF(001): A quantum mechanical model [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1993
The photodissociation dynamics of HBr adsorbed on a LiF(001) surface is studied using time-independent quantum mechanics. The photodissociation line shape and the Br(2P1/2)/Br(2P3/2) yield ratio are computed and compared with the corresponding quantities for gas phase photodissociation.

Protective effect of LIF-huMSCs on the retina of diabetic model rats

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2021
AIM: To investigate the protective effect of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) modified by the LIF gene on the retinal function of diabetic model rats and preliminarily explore the possible mechanism. METHODS: A stably transfected cell line of hUCMSCs overexpressing leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) was constructed.

Real‐Time, Label‐Free Monitoring of Cell Behavior on a Bioelectronic Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bioelectronic nanofibrous scaffold is introduced that supports cell growth while enabling real‐time, label‐free monitoring of cellular behavior through impedance measurements. The system correlates electrical signals with cell viability and surface coverage, offering an integrated platform for studying dynamic biological processes and advancing next ...
