Modeling Competition over Product Life Cycles [PDF]

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research, 2015
This paper presents a mathematical model, linking the classical Markov models for brand switching and models for product life cycles, to forecast competition analysis and market share. This integrated model can be used to forecast market shares of all competitors, and their market shares, including customers retained, customers gained from market ...

Analysis of a mosquito life cycle model [PDF]

open access: yesRevue Africaine de Recherche en Informatique et Mathématiques Appliquées, 2021
The gonotrophic cycle of mosquitoes conditions the frequency of mosquito-human contacts. The knowledge of this important phenomenon in the mosquito life cycle is a fundamental element in the epidemiological analysis of a communicable disease such as mosquito-borne diseases. In this work, we analyze a deterministic model of the complete life cycle of ...

The Life-Cycle Model of Consumption and Saving [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Perspectives, 2001
A central implication of life-cycle models is that agents smooth consumption. We review the empirical evidence on smoothing at frequencies from within the year up to across a lifetime. We find that life-cycle models--particular those which incorporate realistic features of markets and goods--have more empirical successes than failures.

Principles of Life Cycle Inventory Modeling: The Basic Model, Extensions, and Conventions

open access: yes, 2021
The basic model of a life cycle inventory (LCI), with unit processes as\ua0smallest modeling entities, emerged already in the very early phases of life cycle\ua0assessment (LCA) method development.

Modeling Service Life Cycles within Product Life Cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The delivery of product-related services is already a necessary commodity for most goods-producing enterprises [1]. These product-related services are regarded as necessary attachment to successful production of goods. Product and service management include different methods and tools that cover the whole lifecycle [2].

An extended life cycle analysis of packaging systems for fruit and vegetable transport in Europe

open access: yes, 2022
S.1549-1567Purpose: The year-round supply of fresh fruit and vegetables in Europe requires a complex logistics system. In this study, the most common European fruit and vegetable transport packaging systems, namely single-use wooden and cardboard boxes ...

A staged model for the software life cycle [PDF]

open access: yesComputer, 2000
Software engineers have traditionally considered any work after initial delivery as simply software maintenance. Some researchers have divided this work into various tasks, including making changes to functionality (perfective), changing the environment (adaptive), correcting errors (corrective), and making improvements to avoid future problems ...

Energy consumption assessment and modeling of a comminution process: The glass fibers reinforced composites case-study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The implementation of circular economy concept is necessary to obtain sustainable processes. Meanwhile, End-of-Life composite products is one of the most rapidly increasing waste flow.
