Reviewing ISO Compliant Multifunctionality Practices in Environmental Life Cycle Modeling

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The standard ISO 14044:2006 defines the hierarchical steps to follow when solving multifunctionality issues in life cycle assessment (LCA). However, the practical implementation of such a hierarchy has been debated for twenty-five years leading to ...

Building Information Modeling—Empowering Construction Projects with End-to-End Life Cycle Management

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
The construction industry has been significantly transformed by the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM), which has facilitated extensive project management capabilities across the entire life cycle. Notwithstanding its advantages, there

Blinatumomab Utilization in Pediatric B‐Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: Experience From the Mountain West

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Blinatumomab is a bispecific T‐cell engager approved for the treatment of pediatric B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL). Outpatient home infusion reduces hospitalization burden and optimizes resource utilization, but is logistically challenging.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Prediction of blade life cycle for an industrial gas turbine at off-design conditions by applying thermodynamics, turbo-machinery and artificial neural network models

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
A novel method for estimating the rotor blade life cycle of an industrial gas turbine (GT) by the use of artificial Neural Network is proposed in this paper At the first step the blade life cycle is obtained by the use of Larson–Miller method which uses ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Sustainable modeling the life cycle of a real estate development project [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
The most well-thought-out strategic planning of real estate development projects is an extremely urgent task. A real estate development project affects the building area throughout the life cycle.

Retirement and Consumption in a Life Cycle Model [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2007
Consumption expenditure declines sharply at the time of retirement for many households, but the majority maintain a smooth consumption path. A simple life cycle model with uncertainty about the time of retirement can account for this pattern. A richer version of the model is calibrated to data from the Health and Retirement Study.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
