Life Prediction of Notched Components
Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 1995In this study, keyhole and smooth specimens, made from a low alloy pressure vessel steel (ASTM A-533 grade B), were subjected to monoaxial fatigue tests. The results show the influence of the stress concentration factor, Kt, on the number of cycles to failure, Nf.

Predictive Sequential Life Testing
Biometrika, 1978Sequential tests that are based on some unobservable parameter have been well investigated using both classical and Bayesian approaches; see, for example, Wald (1947) and Barnett (1972). In this paper we use the Bayesian predictive density function to constuct a sequential test that is based on some statistic of a future sample, and investigate the ...

Predicting the Dimensions of Life Satisfaction
Journal of Gerontology, 1976Taking multidimensional life satisfaction as the basic premise of this study, a four-equation multiple regression model was constructed for its prediction. The set of regressors included some conventional biographical characteristics, a number of activity variables, and three indicators of retirement experience.

Abstract : The Air Force Research Laboratory requires a method for predicting the relative life of O-rings produced by different manufacturers. O-rings manufactured to the same MIL-spec from different manufacturers usually use different material formulations. Differences in formulations can result in different properties as the O-rings age.
