Life table and survival analysis of Tilia breviradiata population in Dashu Mountain

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2010
In order to know the population dynamics of Tilia breviradiata in Dashu Mountain of Hefei City, the quadrat investigation was conducted on its age structure, life table and fecundity according to population structure of diameter class.

Estimation of multi-state life table functions and their variability from complex survey data using the SPACE Program [PDF]

open access: yes
The multistate life table (MSLT) model is an important demographic method to document life cycle processes. In this study, we present the SPACE (Stochastic Population Analysis for Complex Events) program to estimate MSLT functions and their sampling ...

Ethnic Differences in the Association Between SOD2 rs4880 and Hepatotoxicity in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Report From the REDIAL Consortium

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Treatment‐associated hepatotoxicity (TAH) is a common complication of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, but genetic risk factors remain poorly understood. We evaluated the SOD2 rs4880 variant in 544 children with ALL at Texas Children's Hospital. After adjusting for demographic and clinical covariates, the rs4880 C allele

Expanding an abridged life table

open access: yesDemographic Research, 2001
A question of interest in the demographic and actuarial fields is the estimation of the age-specific mortality pattern when data are given in age groups. Data can be provided in such a form usually because of systematic fluctuations caused by age heaping.

Assessing Cognitive Functioning in Children With Brain Tumors: Interaction of Neighborhood Social Determinants of Health and Neurological Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background This study investigated how neighborhood‐level social determinants of health (SDOH), including redlining and neurological risk, interact to influence cognitive outcomes in children treated for brain tumors (CTBT). Methods A retrospective chart review of 161 CTBT aged 5–17 was conducted.

Comparative life table parameters of beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Lep.: Noctuidae), on four commercial sugar beet cultivars [PDF]

open access: yesنامه انجمن حشره‌شناسی ایران, 2012
Life table parameters of the beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Hübner), on four sugar beet cultivars (Renger, FD0005, Dorothea and Shirin) were studied in laboratory at 27 ± 1°C, 60 ± 5% RH and a photoperiod of 16L: 8D hours.

Individual popularity and activity in online social systems

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a stochastic model of web user behaviors in online social systems, and study the influence of attraction kernel on statistical property of user or item occurrence. Combining the different growth patterns of new entities and attraction patterns

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

The two-sex life table and predation rate of Oenopia conglobata contaminata (Col.: Coccinellidae) feeding on pomegranate green aphid, Aphis punicae (Hem.: Aphididae), under laboratory conditions [PDF]

open access: yesنامه انجمن حشره‌شناسی ایران, 2014
The ladybird species Oenopia conglobata contaminata (Menetries) is one of the major predators of pests in the orchards across Iran. The life history and predation rate of this predator were studied under laboratory conditions with 27.5 ± 2oC, 55 ± 5 RH

Life expectancy [PDF]

open access: yes
We give simple upper and lower bounds on life expectancy. In a life-table population, if e(0) is the life expectancy at birth, M is the median length of life, and e(M) is the expected remaining life at age M, then (M+e(M))/2≤e(0)≤M+e(M)/2.
