Toward Lifetime Learning-based Predictive
2021 IEEE 24th International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design (CSCWD), 2021Modeling system behavior plays a vital role in controlling systems and in monitoring systems health. Recently the machine learning-enabled modeling technology has become a powerful technique and tool for developing models for explaining, predicting, and describing system behaviors. In particular, the machine learning-enabled predictive modeling methods

A computer program is described that can analyze optical fiber fatigue data from a variety of fatigue experiments and for a variety of crack growth kinetics models and can then predict long term static fatigue behavior. The key feature of the program is its’ ability to analyze the statistical uncertainty in the predictions due to scatter in the data to

Lifetime prediction of polymers
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1995AbstractNatural and artificially accelerated weathering trials were carried out on low‐density polyethylene samples used for agricultural and disposable purposes. Modifications in polymer characteristics were studied using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, different scanning calorimetry (DSC), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), scanning

CAN WE PREDICT CUSTOMER LIFETIME VALUE?
Journal of Interactive Marketing, 2005Relationship marketing assumes that firms can be more profitable if they identify the most profitable customers and invest disproportionate marketing resources in them. While intuitive, such strategies presume that a firm can accurately predict the future profitability of customers.

Adolescent Time Preferences Predict Lifetime Outcomes
The Economic Journal, 2014This study investigates the relationship between time preferences and lifetime social and economic outcomes. We use a Swedish longitudinal data set that links information from a large survey on children's time preferences at age 13 to administrative registers spanning over five decades.

This chapter describes continuum and discontinuum based numerical methods to describe subcritical and critical crack growth. The basic assumption is the existence of microcracks with arbitrary orientation and length, which grow under loading according to the Charles or Charles-Hillig laws under consideration of linear elastic fracture mechanics.

Predicting Eclipse Bug Lifetimes
Fourth International Workshop on Mining Software Repositories (MSR'07:ICSE Workshops 2007), 2007In non-trivial software development projects planning and allocation of resources is an important and difficult task. Estimation of work time to fix a bug is commonly used to support this process. This research explores the viability of using data mining tools to predict the time to fix a bug given only the basic information known at the beginning of a

Predicting route lifetime for maximizing network lifetime in MANET
2012 International Conference on Computing, Electronics and Electrical Technologies (ICCEET), 2012In wireless networks, generally nodes operate with batteries for its own normal operation like mobility, packet forwarding. These nodes tend to drain their energy even when it remains in idle mode. In MANETs, this exhaustion of energy will be more due to its infrastructureless nature and mobility.
