Ultrastructural study of the extra-articular Leeds-Keio ligament prosthesis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Pathology, 2005
Background:There have been several histological studies of the Leeds-Keio ligament in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, but there have been few of the Leeds-Keio ligament in the extra-articular portion.Aims/Methods:To report the histological and ultrastructural findings of two cases of medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction using the ...

Mechanical Reinforced and Self‐healing Hydrogels: Bioprinted Biomimetic Methacrylated Collagen Peptide‐Xanthan Gum Constructs for Ligament Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Readily UV‐curing and self‐healing methacrylated collagen peptide (COPMA) hydrogels are developed with tunable mechanical properties. As the interpenetrating network between COPMA and xanthan gum (XG), COPMA‐XG bioinks show improved mechanical properties, printability, and stability, compared to COPMA or XG.

Designing the Next Generation of Biomaterials through Nanoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoengineering enables precise control over biomaterial interactions with living systems by tuning surface energy, defects, porosity, and crystallinity. This review highlights how these nanoscale design parameters drive advances in regenerative medicine, drug delivery, bioprinting, biosensing, and bioimaging, while outlining key translational ...

Combined Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction and Lateral Extra-Articular Tenodesis [PDF]

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2019
Anterolateral rotational instability may persist after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction for a variety of reasons including damage to lateral or posterolateral structures, injury to the meniscus, disruption of anterolateral soft tissue structures, or increased tibial slope.

Anatomical and Radiological Description of the Spring Ligament Articular Facet (SLAF)

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics, 2022
Category: Basic Sciences/Biologics; Midfoot/Forefoot Introduction/Purpose: Spring ligament is a principle static stabilizer of the medial longitudinal arch. There is a triangular facet of fibrocartilage in its superomedial bundle that articulates with the talar head which is poorly described in the literature.

Structure, Mechanics, and Mechanobiology of Fibrocartilage Pericellular Matrix Mediated by Type V Collagen

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study defines the structure, mechanics, and mechanobiology of the fibrocartilage pericellular matrix (PCM) using the murine meniscus, showing how collagen V deficiency alters PCM properties and disrupts cell mechanosensitive signaling. Findings emphasize the critical role of PCM in fibrocartilage mechanobiology and suggest targeting it can enhance
