Role and therapeutic potential of E3s in the tumor microenvironment of hepatocellular carcinoma
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a high-incidence, poor-prognosis malignancy worldwide, requiring new strategies for treatment. Ubiquitination, especially ubiquitination through E3 ubiquitin ligases, plays an indispensable role in the development and ...

Research Progress on the Role of E3 Ubiquitin Ligases in Regulating the Growth, Development and Stress Response of Fruits and Vegetables [PDF]
Protein ubiquitination, an important post-translational modification, plays a wide role in the life activities of eukaryotic cells. E3 ubiquitin ligases specifically recognize target proteins in the ubiquitin-proteasome degradation system and play a ...

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...

Protein neddylation in lung tumorigenesis: Target validation and targeted therapy
Much akin to ubiquitylation, neddylation is catalyzed by a cascade of three enzymes: E1 NEDD8-activating enzyme, E2 NEDD8-conjugating enzyme (UBE2M or UBE2F), and E3 NEDD8 ligases.

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow
