Introduction To date, most animal studies of myocardial ischemia have used open-chest models with direct surgical coronary artery ligation. We aimed to develop a novel, percutaneous, minimally-invasive, closed-chest model of experimental myocardial ...

PNA-induced assembly of fluorescent proteins using DNA as a framework [PDF]
Controlled alignment of proteins on molecular frameworks requires the development of facile and orthogonal chemical approaches and molecular scaffolds. In this work, protein−PNA conjugates are brought forward as new chemical components allowing efficient

Utilizing Selenocysteine for Expressed Protein Ligation and Bioconjugations.
Employing selenocysteine-containing protein fragments to form the amide bond between respective protein fragments significantly extends the current capabilities of the widely used protein engineering method, expressed protein ligation.

Bioprinted Micro‐Clots for Kinetic Analysis of Endothelial Cell‐Mediated Fibrinolysis
This paper describes the development of a microscale model that quantifies the breakdown of fibrin by endothelial cells. The small size scale of this engineered system enables fibrin breakdown to be observed without the addition of external activators. This system could help in identifying compounds which both promote and hinder thrombosis.

Ligation-free ribosome profiling of cell type-specific translation in the brain
Ribosome profiling has emerged as a powerful tool for genome-wide measurements of translation, but library construction requires multiple ligation steps and remains cumbersome relative to more conventional deep-sequencing experiments.

Lipid Nanoparticle‐Mediated CRISPR‐Cas13a Delivery for the Control of Bacterial Infection
New formulations of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) that can deliver nucleic acids to Gram‐negative bacteria are proposed to combat bacterial infection. The delivery of nucleic acids by LNPs is aided by LNP‐helpers which weaken the bacterial outer membrane. LNPs encapsulating the Cas13a/gRNA expression vector achieve an antibacterial effect in both in vivo ...
