Recovery of the Zika virus through an in vitro ligation approach

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2017
In this study, an in vitro ligation method was developed to assemble a full-length infectious cDNA clone of the Zika virus (ZIKV). Four contiguous cDNA subclones covering the complete ZIKV genome were constructed with unique BglI restriction sites at the ends of each fragment.

Balanced analgesia improves recovery and outcome after outpatient tubal ligation

Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 1996
Outpatient surgery benefits patients only if postoperative sequelae are effectively treated. After laparoscopic tubal ligation (TL) intense pain and consequent postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) has been a problem delaying recovery and resulting in hospital admission.Ninety patients were randomised to this double‐blind study, the aim being to ...

Recovery of Testicular Blood Flow Following Ligation of Testicular Vessels

Journal of Urology, 1989
To determine whether initial ligation of the testicular vessels of the high undescended testis followed by a delayed secondary orchiopexy is a viable alternative to the classical Fowler-Stephens procedure, a series of preliminary experiments were conducted in the rat in which testicular blood flow was measured by the 133xenon washout technique before ...

Recovery of vocal fold immobility following isolated patent ductus arteriosus ligation

International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 2014
Identify laryngoscopic and functional outcomes of infants with vocal fold immobility (VFI) following patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation and identify predictors of recovery.Retrospective review of patients with VFI following PDA ligation from 2001 to 2012 at a single institution.

Ligation of the suprarenal vena cava and right nephrectomy with complete recovery

American Journal of Surgery, 1966
Summary A review of the literature on inferior vena caval obstruction above the renal veins is made. This demonstrates only one case of survival after right nephrectomy and ligation of the inferior vena cava above the renal veins. The case presented here is the only one reported with survival after trauma and right nephrectomy and ligation of the ...

Recovery from ischemic monomelic neuropathy after delayed ligation of dialysis access

The Journal of Vascular Access, 2020
Ischemic monomelic neuropathy is characterized by acute painful muscle weakness shortly after access creation and neuronal axon loss without adjacent tissue necrosis, thus, differentiating ischemic monomelic neuropathy from the steal syndrome. Immediate ligation of vascular access is emphasized in current guidelines.

Spontaneous recovery of myocardial function after ligation of Ameroid-stenosed coronary artery

Scandinavian Cardiovascular Journal, 2009
We aimed to assess the spontaneous healing of myocardial function after occlusion of a chronically stenosed coronary vessel in a porcine model.Ischemia and infarction was produced by Ameroid constrictor placement and a subsequent ligation of the left circumflex artery. Cardiac MRI and 18FDG-PET were performed one and five weeks later. Ki67 staining was

Ligation of the inferior vena cava above the renal vein of a sole kidney with recovery

American Journal of Surgery, 1967
Abstract A patient with ligation of the inferior vena cava above and below a sole remaining renal vein survived after deligation and thrombectomy. Kidney function was restored after fourteen and a half hours of ligation. The patient remains well three years postoperatively although kidney function is diminished.
