Simulation of the light extraction efficiency of nanostructure light-emitting diodes

open access: yesChinese Physics B, 2011
The light extraction efficiencies have been calculated for various InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well nanostructure light-emitting diodes including nanopillar, nanorough of P-GaN surface, coreshell and nano-interlayer structure. From the calculated results we can see that the light extraction efficiency is remarkably improved in the nanostructures ...

Effects of light extraction efficiency to the efficiency droop of InGaN-based light-emitting diodes

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2013
Light extraction efficiency (LEE) droop as an important factor contributing to the efficiency droop of InGaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) has been demonstrated and investigated in detail. The LEE droop effect is induced by the spatial dependence of the extraction efficiency of photons inside of the LED devices and the aggravating crowding effect ...

Characterization of light extraction efficiency for WOLEDS with light‐out‐coupling layer

Journal of the Society for Information Display, 2015
AbstractWe studied the light extraction efficiencies of white organic light‐emitting diodes with a light‐out‐coupling layer by simulations and experiments. The light extraction efficiencies estimated by the simulation were confirmed to agree well with those measured by the experiments.

A high-extraction-efficiency nano-patterned organic light-emitting diode

open access: yesFrontiers in Optics, 2003
To improve light extraction from organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), we introduced a photonic crystal pattern into the glass substrate of an OLED. The periodic modulation converts the guided waves in the high-refractive-index indium-tin-oxide/organic layers into external leaky waves.

Dielectric nanoparticles for the enhancement of OLED light extraction efficiency

Optics Communications, 2017
Abstract This work reports the use of dielectric nanoparticles placed at glass substrate in the improvement of light extraction efficiency of organic light emitting diode (OLED). The nanoparticles will act as scattering medium for the light trapped in the waveguiding modes of the device.

Telling Secrets in the Light: An Efficient Key Extraction Mechanism Via Ambient Light

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2021
Due to the benefits of small latency, low energy consumption and increased data rate, device-to-device (D2D) communication is recognized as one of the promising techniques in the 5G era. However, the distributed nature of D2D communication makes it non-trivial to generate symmetric keys for the involving parties.

Interplay of sidewall damage and light extraction efficiency of micro-LEDs

Optics Letters, 2022
This Letter describes the impact of shape on micro light-emitting diodes (µLEDs), analyzing 400 µm2 area µLEDs with various mesa shapes (circular, square, and stripes). Appropriate external quantum efficiency (EQE) can yield internal quantum efficiency (IQE) which decreases with increasing peripheral length of the mesas.
