Optical Simulation and Optimization of Light Extraction Efficiency for Organic Light Emitting Diodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
: Current organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) suffer from the low light extraction efficiency. In this thesis, novel OLED structures including photonic crystal, Fabry-Perot resonance cavity and hyperbolic metamaterials were numerically simulated and ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Integrating Surface Textures on ZnO Substrate for High Light Extraction Efficiency Light-Emitting Diode

open access: yes, 2016
Due to the large refractive index of ZnO material, light extraction efficiency (LEE) of ZnO based light-emitting diode (LED) is limited by the total reflection.

Optimization by a genetic algorithm of the light-extraction efficiency of a GaN light-emitting diode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Light extraction from light-emitting materials is fundamentally limited by internal reflections due to the high dielectric-constant contrast between the material that produces the light and the emergent medium.

Enhancement of Yellow Light Extraction Efficiency of Y 3Al 5O 12:Ce 3+ Ceramic Converters Using a 2-D TiO 2 Hexagonal-Lattice Nanocylinder Photonic Crystal Layer

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
The effects of 2-D hexagonal-lattice TiO 2 photonic crystal layers on the directional light extraction efficiency of low-scattering (Y 1-xCe x) 3Al 5O 12 (YAG:Ce 3+) ceramic converters have been investigated.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Light extraction efficiency improvement and strain relaxation in InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well nanopillars

open access: yes, 2011
Light extraction efficiency improvement and strain relaxation were observed in InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well (MQW) nanopillars. InGaN/GaN MQW-based LED nanopillar arrays with different diameters varying from about 120 to 250 nm were fabricated ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
