Near-field light focusing by wavelength-sized dielectric spheroids for photovoltaic applications
We explore the near-field concentration properties of dielectric spheroidal scatterers with sizes close to the wavelength, using an analytical separation-of-variables method.

Background The Radical Pair model proposes that magnetoreception is a light-dependent process. Under low monochromatic light from the short-wavelength part of the visual spectrum, migratory birds show orientation in their migratory direction.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Depth Light Field Training (DeLFT): NeRF as a rendering primitive
Neural radiance fields (NeRF) based solutions for novel view synthesis can achieve state of the art results. Recent work proposes models that take less time to render, need less training data or take up less space.

Dynamic optical chirality based on liquid-crystal-embedded nano-cilia photonic structures
Compared to natural chiral molecules, artificial chiral photonic structures offer stronger chiroptical responses. However, the remarkable optical properties of most chiral structures are fixed upon fabrication, limiting their applications in scenarios ...

We propose to look at light fields from a dual space point of view. The advantage, in addition to revealing some new insights, is a framework that combines the benefits of many existing works. Using the well known two-plane-parameterization, we derive the duality between the 4-D light field and the 3-D world space.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Light field denoising using 4D anisotropic diffusion
International audienceIn this paper, we present a novel light field denoising algorithm using a vector-valued regularization operating in the 4D ray space.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Epipolar Plane Diffusion: An Efficient Approach for Light Field Editing
International audienceThis paper presents a novel approach for light field editing. The problem of propagating an edit from a single view to the remaining light field is solved by a structure tensor driven diffusion on the epipolar plane images.
