Water-Soluble Metallo-Supramolecular Nanoreactors for Mediating Visible-Light-Promoted Cross-Dehydrogenative Coupling Reactions

open access: yes
Water-soluble metallo-supramolecular cages with well-defined nanosized cavities have a wide range of functions and applications. Herein, we design and synthesize two series of metallo-supramolecular octahedral cages based on the self-assembly of two ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Water-Resources Investigations Report 76-67

open access: yes, 1976
: Annual pumpage for both the Memphis Sand ("500-foot" sand) and Fort Pillow Sand ("1400-foot" sand) from the time of initial pumping from these aquifers to 1975 is presented in both tabular and graphic forms .

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Development of an EOR-produced petroleum wastewater treatment system through integrated polyacrylonitrile membrane and ZrO2/sericin technologies: revelation of interactive mechanism based on synchrotron and XDLVO analyses

open access: yesnpj Clean Water
Ultrafiltration technology is one of the most efficient methods to address the issues of enhanced oil recovery-produced petroleum wastewater (EOR-PW) treatment. However, membrane fouling significantly impairs the efficiency of PW treatment. Moreover, the

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Efficient use of water in agriculture

open access: yes, 1970
The objects of this paper are to discuss the concept of efficiency in agricultural water use, to examine current agricultural water usage in the light of this discussion and to indicate some technological improve ments which might lead to improved ...

Survival of gastric and enterohepatic Helicobacter spp. in water: implications for transmission

open access: yes, 2008
Part of the reason for rejecting aquatic environments as possible vectors for the transmission of Helicobacter pylori has been the preference of this microorganism to inhabit the human stomach and hence use a direct oral-oral route for transmission.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Water-Resources Investigations Report 79-80

open access: yes, 1978
From explanation: This map is based on water level measurements made in wells screened in the Eocene Memphis Sand (formerly "500-foot sand"). Monthly low-water levels for the month of August, 1978 from USGS maintained recorder equipped wells and ...
