Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Triethylamine-Capped Calcium Phosphate Oligomers/Polyacrylamide Synergistically Reinforced α-Hemihydrate Gypsum Composites: A Mechanistic Study on Mechanical Strengthening via Organic/Inorganic Interpenetrating Networks

open access: yesMolecules
In this study, a novel calcium phosphate/polyacrylamide copolymer/α-type hemihydrate gypsum (CPO/PAM/α-HHG) composite material was prepared by polymerising a stable inorganic CPO precursor, end-capped with triethylamine (TEA), with an organic ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Multi‐Step Deposition Strategy for β‐SiC Coatings on Cf/C Composites: Achieving Breakthrough Oxidation Resistance and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Current SiC coating technologies for anti‐oxidation Cf/C composites, such as pack cementation, often rely on high‐temperature in situ reaction with severe mechanical property decay.

Quasi-in-situ investigation on recrystallization behavior of an Al–Mg-Sc-Zr alloy under different homogenization processes

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The influence of different homogenization treatments on the recrystallization behavior of Al–Mg-Sc-Zr alloys during annealing was examined using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and quasi-in-situ electron backscatter ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Functionally Graded Oxide Scale on (Hf,Zr,Ti)B2 Coating with Exceptional Ablation Resistance Induced by Unique Ti Dissolving

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Multicomponent Ti‐containing ultra‐high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) have emerged as more promising ablation‐resistant materials than typical UHTCs for applications above 2000 °C. However, the underlying mechanism of Ti improving the ablation performance

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Achieving the synergistic of strength and ductility in Mg-15Gd-1Zn-0.4Zr alloy with hierarchical structure

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Currently, the hierarchical structure is one of the most effective means to enhance the strength and plasticity of metal materials, since the strain localization can be effectively delayed by the coordination of the unique microstructure.

Light-Weight MPC

open access: yes, 2023
