Mimicking breast cancer tissue—3D bioprinted models in accurate drug sensitivity tests

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional (3D) bioprinted tumor models provide a novel method for studying drug sensitivity. This study compares drug response patterns of 3D bioprinted breast cancer models with xenografts and syngeneic tumors, showing that bioprinted models more accurately reflect the drug sensitivity and tissue heterogeneity of syngeneic tumor model.

Connecting methods of location monitoring equipment to overhead power lines

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики
THE RELEVANCE of the research lies in expanding the technical capabilities of location monitoring of overhead power lines by developing a method for connecting location equipment to them in the absence of standard high-frequency processing of lines ...

A Field Observation on Lightning Performance Improvement of Overhead Distribution Lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Two feeders of 20 kV overhead distribution lines which are located in a high lightning density area are chosen to be observed as a field study due to their good lightning performance after improvement of lightning protection system.

“I Was Known to be a G**k Lover”: Histories of Asian–Australian War Bride Marriages During the Vietnam War

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Politics &History, EarlyView.
Marriage has long been a legacy of overseas deployment for Australian servicemen. In the case of the war in Vietnam, Australian men often interacted with local women on base, in civilian spaces, or in passing. Occasionally, couples would form private relationships and, in some cases, marry and return to Australia at the end of deployment.

Transient Response Characteristics of Metal Oxide Arrester under High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In order to study the strong electromagnetic pulse effect of critically vulnerable equipment in power systems and evaluate the survivability under high-altitude electromagnetic pulses, it is necessary to study the characteristics of the transient ...

Analysis of Surge Propagation with Lightning Arrester using FDTD for 25 kV-AC Transmission Line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper analyzes lightning surge propagation and reflection as the surge arrives at a lightning arrester. Telegraphist equations have been used to characterize the voltage and current of a travelling wave in a lossless power transmission line and ...

Aurora‐A Promotes Cell‐Cycle Progression From Quiescence Through Primary Cilia Disassembly

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Our findings demonstrate that AurA facilitates cell cycle reentry by promoting primary cilia disassembly. Utilizing an inducible degron system, we showed that AurA depletion delays the G0/G1 transition, a defect rescued by forced deciliation. These results underscore AurA's role beyond mitosis and reinforce its potential as a therapeutic target in ...

A Simplified Lightning Model for Metal Oxide Surge Arrester [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Lightning strike has been one of the major factors that lead to failure of electrical power systems. In recent years, metal oxide surge arrester has been widely used and it is now an essential item in the insulation coordination for power systems based ...
