Carbocisteine Reduces Airway Mucus Obstruction and Alters Inflammatory Cell Populations in a Model of Muco‐Obstructive Lung Disease

Mice with a muco‐obstructive lung disease phenotype were treated with the mucoactive drug, carbocisteine, which resulted in reduced airway mucus and an alteration in the lung mononuclear cell population which was either as a direct effect of, or secondary to, improved mucus clearance.

Abstract Extreme positive cloud‐to‐ground lightning over East Asian midlatitudes exhibits a spring–autumn double maximum hidden by the familiar winter climatology. Using 1,838,538 return strokes with absolute peak currents at least 200 kA during 2006–2024, we resolve its annual cycle by month and latitude.
