Radio emissions from double RHESSI TGFs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A detailed analysis of Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI) terrestrial gamma ray flashes (TGFs) is performed in association with World Wide Lightning Location Network (WWLLN) sources and very low frequency (VLF) sferics recorded

Application of 3D scanning technology in Royal Malaysian Air Force Industrial Revolution 4.0‐based aircraft maintenance

open access: yesIET Networks, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract 3D scanning is rapidly becoming a key maintenance tool. Aerospace was a pioneer in adopting 3D scanning technology because aircraft manufacture and maintenance require precision. Monitoring deterioration, removing components for maintenance, and verifying covert operations are not practical or helpful without technology.

Detection of deterministic and probabilistic convection initiation using Himawari-8 Advanced Himawari Imager data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The detection of convective initiation (CI) is very important because convective clouds bring heavy rainfall and thunderstorms that typically cause severe socio-economic damage.

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Thermal Deformation Correction for the FY-4A LMI

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Affected by solar radiation in space, the FY-4A Lightning Mapping Imager (LMI) detection array exhibits daily periodic thermal expansion and contraction, leading to deviations in lightning positioning accuracy.

A novel framework of detecting convective initiation combining automated sampling, machine learning, and repeated model tuning from geostationary satellite data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper proposes a complete framework of a machine learning-based model that detects convective initiation (CI) from geostationary meteorological satellite data. The suggested framework consists of three main processes: (1) An automated sampling tool;

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Environmental Impact of Silicic Magmatism in Large Igneous Province Events

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 133-151., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.
