Lightning overvoltages in low voltage networks

14th International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 1997 - Distributing Power for the Millennium), 1997
The European Standard EN 50160 “Voltage characteristics of electricity supplied by public distribution systems” indicates that in low voltage power systems the transient overvoltages between line conductors and earth will not exceed 6 kV peak, but higher values occur occasionally.

Positive Lightning Peak Currents Reported by the U.S. National Lightning Detection Network

IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2014
We infer peak currents from radiation electric field peaks of 48 positive return strokes acquired in Gainesville, FL, USA, from 2007 to 2008. In doing so, we use the transmission line model, National Lightning Detection Network (NLDN) -reported distances, and assumed return-stroke speed.

Payment channel network analysis with focus on lightning network

2020
During the financial crisis in 2008, a digital, distributed and decentralised crypto currency arose. Bitcoin was intended to overcome control and censorship by governmental authorities and to enable its users to be under full control of their assets at any time.

LIGHTNING PROTECTION OF LOW-VOLTAGE NETWORKS

2013
The improvement of the reliability and power quality levels of electric systems is a matter of increasing concern because today’s equipment are much more susceptible to power quality issues than was equipment used in the past. Distribution networks are often located in areas with high ground flash densities, being therefore subject to lightning-caused ...
