Calculating Lightning Overvoltages Transferred Through a Transformer

Lightning overvoltages transferred from the high-voltage system through the generator transformer to medium-voltage circuit of the power plant are calculated. The determination of transformer capacitances is described. A close lightning strike at high-voltage transmission line 220 kV is simulated.
