Selection of Lignin Degrading Bacteria from Soil, Kitchen Waste, Leaf Litter, and Cow Dung Based on Lignin Peroxidase and Manganese Peroxidase Activities [PDF]

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Pertanian Indonesia
Lignin is a complex chemical heterogeneous polymer that forms a physical barrier to lignocellulose's biological and chemical hydrolysis, making lignocellulosic biomass challenging to degrade.

Crystal structure of lignin peroxidase. [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1993
The crystal structure of lignin peroxidase (LiP) from the basidiomycete Phanerochaete chrysosporium has been determined to 2.6 A resolution by usine multiple isomorphous replacement methods and simulated annealing refinement. Of the 343 residues, residues 3-335 have been accounted for in the electron density map, including four disulfide bonds.

EFFECTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS ON FORMATION OF LIGNIN IN EUCALYPTUS CAMALDULENSIS DEHN. GROWN IN KHOSESTAN-IRAN [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات علوم چوب و کاغذ ایران, 2003
Peroxidases are enzymes which catalyse two final steps in the wood lignin biosynthesis. The connection between xylem peroxidase activities and wood xylem lignifications was examined by determining peroxidase activities in the stems of eucalypt ...

Depolymerization and conversion of lignin to value-added bioproducts by microbial and enzymatic catalysis

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2021
Lignin, the most abundant renewable aromatic compound in nature, is an excellent feedstock for value-added bioproducts manufacturing; while the intrinsic heterogeneity and recalcitrance of which hindered the efficient lignin biorefinery and utilization ...

Elucidating the role of media nitrogen in augmenting the production of lignin-depolymerizing enzymes by white-rot fungi

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Indigenous white-rot fungal isolates Schizophyllum commune, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Ganoderma racenaceum, and Lentinus squarrosulus, demonstrating the ability to depolymerize lignin of the crop residues, were studied for their potential to produce ...

An insight into the lignin peroxidase of Macrophomina phaseolina [PDF]

open access: yesBioinformation, 2013
Macrophomina phaseolina is one of the deadliest necrotrophic fungal pathogens that infect more than 500 plant species including major food, fiber, and oil crops all throughout the globe. It secretes a cocktail of ligninolytic enzymes along with other hydrolytic enzymes for degrading the woody lignocellulosic plant cell wall and penetrating into the ...
