An Effector TaCRVP From Tuta Absoluta Oral Secretion Impairs H2O2‐Mediated Plant Defense by Targeting Tomato SlCAT2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Tuta absoluta salivary effector TaCRVP subverts tomato immunity by hijacking host catalase SlCAT2. Through a sophisticated dual mechanism, TaCRVP simultaneously promotes SlCAT2 tetramerization for activation and blocks its SlAdBiL‐mediated degradation for stabilization.

Distribution and degradation of terrestrial organic matter in the sediments of peat-draining rivers, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo [PDF]

open access: yesBiogeosciences, 2019
Tropical peatlands are one of the largest pools of terrestrial organic carbon (OCterr); however, our understanding of the dynamics of OCterr in peat-draining rivers remains limited, especially in Southeast Asia. This study used bulk parameters and lignin

Fast Pyrolysis of Lignin Pretreated with Magnesium Formate and Magnesium Hydroxide

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Kraft lignin (Indulin AT) pretreated with magnesium formate and magnesium hydroxide was fast-pyrolyzed in a continuously fed, bench-scale system. To avoid fouling issues typically associated with lignin pyrolysis, a simple laboratory test was used to ...

Phenol–Formaldehyde Adhesives Modified with Eucalyptus Lignin: The Advantages of Soda Lignin

open access: yesPolymers
This study investigates the performance of phenol–formaldehyde adhesives containing Eucalyptus lignin as an extender in their formulation. A commercial phenol–formaldehyde resin was used, and five different types of lignin were tested: (1) kraft lignin precipitated with carbon dioxide, (2) kraft lignin precipitated with sulfuric acid, (3) soda lignin ...
