Reliability Analysis of Improved Type-II Adaptive Progressively Inverse XLindley Censored Data
This study offers a newly improved Type-II adaptive progressive censoring with data sampled from an inverse XLindley (IXL) distribution for more efficient and adaptive reliability assessments.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Indirect likelihood inference [PDF]
Given a sample from a fully specified parametric model, let Zn be a given finite-dimensional statistic - for example, an initial estimator or a set of sample moments. We propose to (re-)estimate the parameters of the model by maximizing the likelihood of

An Area-Based Prior Value Method for Detection of Micro Contamination in Hard Disk Drives
This paper presents a new area-based prior value technique for the improvement of automatic visual inspection in hard disk drive manufacturing. Micro-contaminations are detected on the air-bearing surface of the head gimbal assembly.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

"Empirical Likelihood Methods in Econometrics: Theory and Practice" [PDF]
Recent developments in empirical likelihood (EL) methods are reviewed. First, to put the method inperspective, two interpretations of empirical likelihood are presented, one as a nonparametric maximum likelihood estimation method (NPMLE) and the other as

Empirical Likelihood Confidence Region for Parameters in Semi-linear Errors-in-Variables Models [PDF]
This paper proposes a constrained empirical likelihood confidence region for a parameter in the semi-linear errors-in-variables model. The confidence region is constructed by combining the score function corresponding to the squared orthogonal distance

Closed-Form Likelihood Expansions for Multivariate Time-Inhomogeneous Diffusions [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to find approximate log-transition density functions for multivariate time-inhomogeneous diffusions in closed form. There are many empirical evidences that the underlying data generating processes for many economic variables ...
