The Geometry of Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test [PDF]
The generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) for composite hypothesis testing problems is studied from a geometric perspective. An information-geometrical interpretation of the GLRT is proposed based on the geometry of curved exponential families.

Likelihood-Ratio-Based Biometric Verification [PDF]
This paper presents results on optimal similarity measures for biometric verification based on fixed-length feature vectors. First, we show that the verification of a single user is equivalent to the detection problem, which implies that for single-user verification the likelihood ratio is optimal.

Examining performance and likelihood ratios for two likelihood ratio systems using the PROVEDIt dataset. [PDF]
A likelihood ratio (LR) system is defined as the entire pipeline of the measurement and interpretation processes where probabilistic genotyping software (PGS) is a piece of the whole LR system. To gain understanding on how two LR systems perform, a total

A likelihood ratio framework for inferring close kinship from dynamically selected SNPs [PDF]
Forensic genetic genealogy (FGG) is a force-multiplier for human identification, leveraging dense single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data to infer relationships through identity by descent (IBD) segment analysis.

Performance Evaluation of Source Camera Attribution by Using Likelihood Ratio Methods [PDF]
Performance evaluation of source camera attribution methods typically stop at the level of analysis of hard to interpret similarity scores. Standard analytic tools include Detection Error Trade-off or Receiver Operating Characteristic curves, or other ...

Obtaining reliable likelihood ratio tests from simulated likelihood functions. [PDF]
MIXED MODELS: Models allowing for continuous heterogeneity by assuming that value of one or more parameters follow a specified distribution have become increasingly popular. This is known as 'mixing' parameters, and it is standard practice by researchers-

Determination and Validation of a Lower Cut Off Value of Cerebrospinal Fluid Adenosine Deaminase (CSF-ADA) Activity in Diagnosis of Tuberculous Meningitis [PDF]
Introduction: Tuberculous meningitis is an infection of the meninges caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is one of the most common infectious diseases of the Central Nervous System (CNS) and a major health problem in developing countries like ...
