Age and biogeography of major clades in Liliales [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, 2001
A robust phylogeny of 40 genera and all seven families of the Liliales based on rbcL sequences was dated by the mean branch‐length method of Bremer and Gustafsson and by Sanderson's nonparametric rate smoothing. The basal node was set to 82 million years (my) from the results of a previous more extensive dating involving all monocots.

Pollen Structure and Diversity in Liliales

International Journal of Plant Sciences, 2015
Premise of research. Family relationships in the monocot order Liliales have been revised recently, so that the order now consists of 10 families of geophytes and climbers, with unusually diverse pollen morphology. Corsiaceae are sometimes placed as sister to all other Liliales, probably allied with Campynemataceae.

Implications of plastome evolution in the true lilies (monocot order Liliales)

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2020
The families of the monocot order Liliales exhibit highly contrasting characteristic of photosynthetic and mycoheterotrophic life histories. Although previous phylogenetic and morphological studies of Liliales have been conducted, they have not examined molecular evolution associated with this contrasting phenomenon.

Cytotaxonomy of Liliales

Feddes Repertorium, 1975
AbstractOn the basis of cytological data and with consideration of a wide literature, the taxonomy of Liliales as delimited by Hutchinson are represented. A review about phylogeny of Liliaceae in different systems is given. In the main part a great number of tribes of Liliaceae are treated with regard to delimitation, affinities and evolution.
