Fascial and peri-incision cutaneous meshing for complex soft tissue closure
Obtaining primary closure of the soft tissue envelope in complex wounds can pose significant challenges to the surgeon. Excess tension across the proposed line of closure and peri-incisional skin is common when closing complex defects. This may result in

A review of the effectiveness of lower limb orthoses used in cerebral palsy [PDF]
To produce this review, a systematic literature search was conducted for relevant articles published in the period between the date of the previous ISPO consensus conference report on cerebral palsy (1994) and April 2008.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

Posterior Cortical Atrophy in the Asia‐Pacific: A Report From the PCA Asian Workgroup
ABSTRACT Objective Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) is a distinct dementia syndrome primarily affecting spatial abilities and visual processing. It is associated with degeneration in the posterior part of the brain. PCA is subclassified into PCA‐pure and PCA‐plus syndromes based on consensus criteria.

Contraversive neglect? A modulation of visuospatial neglect in association with contraversive pushing [PDF]
Objective: Contraversive pushing (CP) is a neurologic disorder characterized by a lateral postural imbalance. Pusher patients actively push toward their contralesional side due to a misperception of the body's orientation in relation to gravity. Although

Limb Lengthening in Patients with Achondroplasia
Although bilateral lower-limb lengthening has been performed on patients with achondroplasia, the outcomes for the tibia and femur in terms of radiographic parameters, clinical results, and complications have not been compared with each other. We proposed 1) to compare the radiological outcomes of femoral and tibial lengthening and 2) to investigate ...

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Limb lengthening by physeal distraction [PDF]
I evaluated 10 consecutive lengthenings through the upper tibial physis in 9 patients. A bilateral frame consisting of two small-sized Wagner devices and two pairs of 4-mm transfixing pins with 5-mm-diameter central threads were used. The median lengthening was 6.7 cm. Complications were frequent.

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.
