A Cu‐Based Near‐IR Active MOF with an Ion‐Pair Guest Exhibiting Versatile and Selective Gas‐Solid Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The new Cu‐containing MOF (Me2NH2)(CuICl2)@[Cu4(INA)4Cl2O]·1.5dmf (3) contains a cation and an anion as guests and shows UV‐near‐mid‐IR absorption and near‐IR emission. MOF 3 shows gas‐solid reactivity in the presence of NH3 and HCOOH to yield two new 3D MOF.

Li Incorporation Induces Surface Chemical Disorder in Solution‐Processed Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Lithium incorporation into Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) thin‐film semiconductors is highly beneficial for solar power conversion efficiencies, although directly visualising its impact on the absorber is difficult. Energy‐filtered photoemission electron microscopy measurements reveal lithium alloying induces surface chemical disorder of CZTSSe, highlighted ...

Winter treatments against the woolly apple aphid (Eriosoma lanigerum): products and timing of applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In organic apple growing the woolly apple aphid (Eriosoma lanigerum) is still an unsolved problem. Various approaches to use beneficial insects were not really effective. Only winter treatments with mineral oils showed partial and fluctuating success.

Influence of Outcoupling Layers on Top‐Emitting Perovskite Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 8, March 13, 2025.
Top‐emitting perovskite LEDs offer benefits over typical bottom‐emitting architectures, toward lasing, improved thermal management, and on‐chip fabrication compatibility. Outcoupling layers offer a strategy uniquely applicable to top‐emitting LEDs to optimize EQE by improving optical outcoupling.

Composite Anion Exchange Membranes Containing a Long-Side Chain Ionomer and Exfoliated Lamellar Double Hydroxides

open access: yesMembranes
Anion Exchange Membranes (AEMs) are promising materials for electrochemical devices, such as fuel cells and electrolyzers. However, the main drawback of AEMs is their low durability in alkaline operating conditions.

TreeSpider: In‐Canopy Exploration With Tether‐Based Aerial Modular Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A tethered drone with perching arms and a 360° ring enables unprecedented maneuverability within dense forest canopies. By dynamically adjusting tether length and decoupling pitch from the frame, it navigates between branches, senses multiple trees, and interacts physically with foliage.
