Limit Analysis for Plastic Plates
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 1980The collapse problem for plate bending is considered as an infinite dimensional mathematical programming problem. The duality between the static and kinematic formulations of limit analysis is proved, and it is shown that limit fields for bending moments and displacement rates exist.

The Limited Utility of Utilitarian Analysis
The American Journal of Bioethics, 2006Jonathan Baron claims that approaches to bioethics decision making other than utilitarian decision analysis often cause harm that could be avoided (Baron 2006).

Possibilites and limitations of finite elements for limit analysis
Géotechnique, 1984The ability of the 15-noded displacement based finite element to assess accurately collapse loads of soil structures is examined for high friction angles and non-associated flow rules. Solutions are presented for strip and circular footings, for the trap door problem and for the cone penetration test.

Plasticity, limit analysis, and limiting equilibrium
1994A system of surface and body forces applied to a body will cause changes in the stresses and strains within it. The changes in strain will usually be partly elastic and immediately recoverable, but may also result in part from irrecoverable plastic yield. As the forces increase, a growing part of the body may reach the limit of its shear strength. Once

Limited logical belief analysis
1997The process of rational inquiry can be defined as the evolution of a rational agent's belief set as a consequence of its internal inference procedures and its interaction with the environment. These beliefs can be modelled in a formal way using doxastic logics. The possible worlds model and its associated Kripke semantics provide an intuitive semantics

Duality between Limit Analysis and Limit Design
Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1971The relation between limit analysis and optimal limit design of stable rigid perfectly plastic systems will be analyzed in the particular context of Tresca sandwich plates, but the same duality principles can be readily extended to any yield condition and any convex and piece-wise differentiable specific cost function.
