The effects of noise on the dynamics of nonlinear systems is known to lead to many counterintuitive behaviors. Using simple planar limit cycle oscillators, we show that the addition of moderate noise leads to qualitatively different dynamics.

ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

In this chapter we have introduced the paradigm `Limit Cycle Walking'. This paradigm has been used for some time by a group of bipedal robotics researchers, but the concept had not been properly defined before: Limit Cycle Walking is a nominally periodic sequence of steps that is stable as a whole but not locally stable at every instant in time.
