Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

Real‐World Performance of CSF Kappa Free Light Chains in the 2024 McDonald Criteria

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Kappa free light chains (KFLCs) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) have a similar performance to CSF‐restricted oligoclonal bands (OCB) for multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. To help with implementation, we set out to resolve several remaining uncertainties: (1) performance in a real‐world cohort and the 2024 McDonald criteria; (2 ...

The Role of Spatial Anxiety in The Relationship Between Mathematics Anxiety and Spatial Reasoning

open access: yesJournal on Efficiency and Responsibility in Education and Science
This study explored the connection between mathematics anxiety and spatial reasoning, examining potential mediating and moderating effects of spatial anxiety, as well as the roles of grade level and gender. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 477

Mathematical modelling of oxygen transport-limited follicle growth [PDF]

open access: yesReproduction, 2007
Mathematical modelling was used to investigate oxygen transport in the developing ovarian follicle. In contrast to previous findings, the results show that oxygen can reach the oocyte in large preantral follicles. This is largely due to the inclusion of fluid voidage in the model and improved estimates of oxygen diffusion coefficients through the ...

On the Change of Measure for Brownian Processes

open access: yesEntropy
Sometimes, limits can be singular, implying that they take on different values depending on the order of arithmetic operations. In other words, the limit map lacks commutativity.

Informacinės technologijos matematikai vizualizuoti ir tyrinėti

open access: yesInformacijos Mokslai, 2007
Straipsnyje aptariama matematikos mokymo naudojant informacines technologijas problematika. Kompiuteris suteikia besimokančiajam tyrinėjimo, modeliavimo, konstravimo erdvę – matematikos mokymosi mikropasaulius. Tam reikia parengti kompiuterinių priemonių,

Changes in Support Intervention Practices in Mathematics for 5-Year-Old Preschool Education: The Importance of a Collaborative and Reflective Process

open access: yesEducation Sciences
Preschool mathematics support remains insufficient, which can limit children’s skill development and impact their long-term academic success. This study explores how collaboration between researchers and teachers can enhance these practices.

Teaching the Concept of Limit by Using Conceptual Conflict Strategy and Desmos Graphing Calculator

open access: yes, 2015
Although the mathematics community has long accepted the concept of limit as the foundation of modern Calculus, the concept of limit itself has been marginalized in undergraduate Calculus education.

Target refractions in bilateral monofocal pseudophakia: analysis of a mathematical model

open access: yesAfrican Vision and Eye Health, 2013
A recent paper proposes a model for suitable target refractions for monofocal pseudophakic monovision.  The purpose of this paper is to examine the mathematics that underpins the theory.
