Mancozeb: health regulations, food safety control and prevention of technical barriers to trade

open access: yesЄдине здоров'я та проблеми харчування України
Introduction. Mancozeb is a widely used synthetic fungicide from the group of dithiocarbamates. Numerous mancozeb preparations are used to protect many agricultural crops and obtain a significant number of products from them for consumption in Ukraine ...

Development and Validation of a Reversed-Phase HPLC Method for the Estimation of Zolpidem in Bulk Drug and Tablets

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
In the present study an isocratic reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method was developed for the estimation of zolpidem in bulk drug and pharmaceutical dosage forms. The quantification was carried out on C18 columns.

TLC-densitometric analysis of allantoin in Symphytum officinale L. roots

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica, 2020
A TLC-densitometric method for determination of allantoin in Symphytum officinale root was developed. Densitometric quantification of allantoin was carried out on TLC Si60 plates with butanol-50 % methanol/formic acid, 66.5:33.2:0.3 (V/V/V) as developing

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Quantification of HIV-2 DNA in Whole Blood

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2019
Time to AIDS infection is longer with HIV-2, compared to HIV-1, but without antiretroviral therapy both infections will cause AIDS-related mortality. In HIV-2 infection, monitoring of antiretroviral treatment (ART) efficacy is challenging since a large ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Validação do método de extração e quantificação de 7-hidróxi- 4’,6-dimetóxi-isoflavona em culturas de células em suspensão e calos de Dipteryx odorata

open access: yesEclética Química, 2018
The present work consists of the development and validation of HPLC analytical methodology for the evaluation of 7-hydroxy-4’, 6-dimethoxyisoflavone in cells suspension and callus culture of Dipteryx odorata.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
