Lindley Approximation Technique for the Parameters of Lomax Distribution
The present study is concerned with the estimation of shape and scale parameter of Lomax distribution using Bayesian approximation techniques (Lindley’s Approximation). Different priors viz gamma, exponential and Levy priors are used to obtain the Bayes estimates of parameters of Lomax distributions under Lindley approximation technique.

The Jeffreys-Lindley Paradox and Discovery Criteria in High Energy Physics [PDF]
The Jeffreys-Lindley paradox displays how the use of a p-value (or number of standard deviations z) in a frequentist hypothesis test can lead to an inference that is radically different from that of a Bayesian hypothesis test in the form advocated by ...

Baysian and NonBaysian Methods to Estimate the two parameters of Logistic Distribution
In this paper ,the problem of point estimation for the two parameters of logistic distribution has been investigated using simulation technique. The rank sampling set estimator method which is one of the Non_Baysian procedure and Lindley approximation ...

In this note, stochastic comparisons and results for weighted and Lindley models are presented. Approximation of weighted distributions via Lindley distribution in the class of increasing failure rate (IFR) and decreasing failure rate (DFR) weighted distributions with monotone weight functions are obtained including approximations via the length-biased

Estimation of the Parameters of the Lomax Distribution using the EM Algorithm and Lindley Approximation [PDF]
Estimation of statistical distribution parameter is one of the important subject of statistical inference. Due to the applications of Lomax distribution in business, economy, statistical science, queue theory, internet traffic modeling and so on, in this paper, the parameters of Lomax distribution under type II censored samples using maximum likelihood
