On Spatial Point Processes With Composition‐Valued Marks

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Methods for marked spatial point processes with scalar marks have seen extensive development in recent years. While the impressive progress in data collection and storage capacities has yielded an immense increase in spatial point process data with highly challenging non‐scalar marks, methods for their analysis are not equally well developed ...

Research on the characteristics of multi-infeed DC system with hybrid commutation converter suppressing successive commutation failure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
In view of the problem of successive commutation failure in multi-infeed direct current systems, this paper investigates the commutation characteristics of hybrid commutation convert technology and its application in mitigating successive commutation ...

Experimental evaluation of hybrid cycloconverters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Power converters consisting of naturally commutated thyristors such as cycloconverters and current source inverters were the first used in driving electrical motors with variable speed but now due to their inferior performance compared to forced ...

The Mathematical History Behind the Granger–Johansen Representation Theorem

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT When can a vector time series that is integrated once (i.e., becomes stationary after taking first differences) be described in error correction form? The answer to this is provided by the Granger–Johansen representation theorem. From a mathematical point of view, the theorem can be viewed as essentially a statement concerning the geometry of ...

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 5, Page 1151-1298, May 2026.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Comparative Analysis on Small-Signal Stability of Multi-Infeed VSC HVDC System With Different Reactive Power Control Strategies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Voltage Source Converter based High Voltage Direct Current (VSC HVDC) technology is used more and more in modern power systems. Consequently, in the ac network, an increasing number of converters are appearing in mutual electrical proximity, thus forming

In-wheel axial-flux SRM drive for light electric vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Revenues from global sales of light electric vehicles are expected to grow from $ 9.3 billion in 2017 to $ 23.9 billion in 2025. In order to boost this growth electric drives with better features and lower costs have to be developed.

Red Blood Cell Membrane Mechanics Using Discrete Exterior Calculus (DEC) and Optimization

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 42, Issue 4, April 2026.
We present a novel DEC approach for calculating RBC shapes applicable to other cell types and membrane problems. We derive an energy minimization equation that can be solved semi‐implicitly, and a Lie derivative method to control node spacing. This novel work should aid computational modeling in many biological situations.
