Adaptive Linear Classifier by Linear Programming
A linear classifier based on linear programming which is adaptive to a change in the set of input vectors is discussed. Different from other linear classifiers, this one maintains the maximum reliability of its operation, provided that the set of pattern vectors is linearly separable.

Colored extrinsic fluctuations and stochastic gene expression
Stochasticity is both exploited and controlled by cells. Although the intrinsic stochasticity inherent in biochemistry is relatively well understood, cellular variation, or ‘noise’, is predominantly generated by interactions of the system of interest ...

The central role of forests in the 2021 European floods
Plants play a key role in the hydrological cycle, yet their contribution to extreme rainfall remains uncertain. Here we show that more than half of the vast amounts of water accumulated in the recent Germany and Belgium floods were supplied by vegetation

Human Stress and StO2: Database, Features, and Classification of Emotional and Physical Stress
Emotional and physical stress can cause various health problems. In this paper, we used tissue blood oxygen saturation (StO2), a newly proposed physiological signal, to classify the human stress. We firstly constructed a public StO2 database including 42

ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...
