Linear Induction Algebra and a Normal Form for Linear Operators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The set of natural integers is fundamental for at least two reasons: it is the free induction algebra over the empty set (and at such allows definitions of maps by primitive recursion) and it is the free monoid over a one-element set, the latter structure being a consequence of the former.

Algebra of Complex Vectors and Applications in Electromagnetic Theory and Quantum Mechanics

open access: yesMathematics, 2015
A complex vector is a sum of a vector and a bivector and forms a natural extension of a vector. The complex vectors have certain special geometric properties and considered as algebraic entities. These represent rotations along with specified orientation

Holomorphic anomalies, fourfolds and fluxes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We investigate holomorphic anomalies of partition functions underlying string compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds with background fluxes. For elliptic fourfolds the partition functions have an alternative interpretation as elliptic genera of N = 1 ...

Characteristic Polynomial and Eigenproblem of Triangular Matrix over Interval Min-Plus Algebra

open access: yesJTAM (Jurnal Teori dan Aplikasi Matematika)
A min-plus algebra is a linear algebra over the semiring R_ε', equipped with the operations “"⊕'=min" ” and “⊗=+”. In min-plus algebra, there is the concept of characteristic polynomial obtained from permanent of matrix.

Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Adult Learning in STEM Disciplines

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are reshaping adult learning in STEM by providing adaptive, data‐driven instruction across classrooms, workplaces, and informal environments. In the context of ITS, this article compares generative AI, which creates personalized explanations and practice materials, with explainable AI, which focuses on ...

Hidden symmetry of the static response of black holes: applications to Love numbers

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We show that any static linear perturbations around Schwarzschild black holes enjoy a set of conserved charges which forms a centrally extended Schrödinger algebra sh $$ \mathfrak{sh} $$ (1) = sl $$ \mathfrak{sl} $$ (2, ℝ) ⋉ H $$ \mathcal{H} $$ .

Algebras Generated by Reciprocals of Linear Forms

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2002
Let $Δ$ be a finite set of nonzero linear forms in several variables with coefficients in a field $\mathbf K$ of characteristic zero. Consider the $\mathbf K$-algebra $C(Δ)$ of rational functions generated by $\{1/α\mid α\in Δ\}$. Then the ring $\partial(V)$ of differential operators with constant coefficients naturally acts on $C(Δ)$.

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Linear forms with algebraic coefficients. I

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 1971
In einer früheren Arbeit [Simultaneous approximation to algebraic numbers by rationals. Acta Math. 125, 189--201 (1970; Zbl 0205.06702)] hatte der Verf. den bekannten Satz von Roth über rationale Approximationen an eine algebraische Zahl auf simultane Approximationen übertragen, und später (Teil I) [Linear forms with algebraic coefficients.
