Bending Analysis of Thickness‐ and Shear‐Deformable Materially Imperfect Composite Shells With von Kármán‐Type Geometric Nonlinearities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Geometrically nonlinear static analysis of materially imperfect composite doubly curved shells is investigated via the generalised differential quadrature method. The effects of both shear and thickness deformation are considered through a thickness‐ and shear‐deformable third‐order theory formulated in curvilinear coordinates, while the ...

Gap Symmetry, Electronic Structure and Interplay Between Superconductivity and Spin Density Wave in Sr1−xKxFe2As2 Superconductor

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
In moderately hole‐doped Sr1−xKxFe2As2${\rm Sr}_{1-x}{\rm K}_x{\rm Fe}_2{\rm As}_2$ system the pairing state is s+−${\rm s}^{+-}$ wave pairing state mediated by spin fluctuations. As the SDW order parameter increases, TC${\rm T}_C$ decreases and TM${\rm T}_M$ increases. As temperature increases, the SDW order parameter decreases and vanishes at TM${\rm

Robustness Assessment of Public Transport Networks in Various Graph Representations: Systematic Review, Decision Support, and Case Study

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The analysis of certain properties of the underlying graph of a public transport network generates insights about the network's structure. Hereby, the choice of the graph representation depends on a trade‐off between complexity reduction and information preservation to adequately model a public transport network.

On the Convergence of Conjugate Gradient and GMRES Algorithms in the Forward Backward Sweep Method for Optimal Control

open access: yesOptimal Control Applications and Methods, EarlyView.
Optimal control combines state and adjoint equations, which yield the state (x$$ x $$) and adjoint (lambda) variables as a function of the control variables (u$$ u $$). This structure allows us to design strategies for iteratively updating the control variable, based on conjugate gradient (CG) or GMRES algorithms.

Applying Dynamics/Cost Parameter Continuation to the Optimal Guidance of Variable‐Speed Unicycle

open access: yesOptimal Control Applications and Methods, EarlyView.
(a) Classical parameter continuation method diverges. (b) Dynamics/cost parameter continuation method converges. ABSTRACT The problem of a variable‐speed unicycle guidance to the stationary target is considered. The vehicle should be guided to the origin while minimizing the energy loss due to the induced drag.
