Local Linear Approximation Algorithm for Neural Network
This paper aims to develop a new training strategy to improve efficiency in estimation of weights and biases in a feedforward neural network (FNN). We propose a local linear approximation (LLA) algorithm, which approximates ReLU with a linear function at

Increasing the estimated region of attraction for nonlinear systems stabilised at the linear approximation by applying LgV control [PDF]
Nonlinear systems with stabilisable linear approximations can be stabilised by linear feedback. The so-called theorem of the stability at linear approximation provides an estimate of the region of attraction via Lyapunov's method.

Linear property and optimal design of MARS-like cryptographic structure
A MARS-like cryptographic structure was proposed and some linear properties of this cryptographic structure were given. An optimal design method of linear transformation in MARS-like cryptographic structure was also given.Concretely, by analyzing the ...

ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell anemia (SCA) in low‐income settings are at risk of severe malnutrition, but optimal nutritional management has not been established. We evaluated an intensified ready‐to‐use therapeutic food (RUTF) regimen in children with persistent severe malnutrition after initial treatment and assessed whether early ...

Mimetic massive gravity: beyond linear approximation
We present a theory of ghost-free massive gravity where the mass of the graviton is generated through the Brout-Englert-Higgs (BEH) mechanism and one of the four scalar fields used is that of mimetic gravity.

On approximation of approximately linear mappings by linear mappings
Assume A is a normed linear space, B is a Banach space, and \(f:A\to B\) is a mapping ''approximately linear''. In an old paper we have worked the following Ulam problem: Give conditions in order for a linear mapping near an approximately linear mapping to exist. The proof of the main result (i.e. the existence part) is correct.

Approximate Sparse Linear Regression
In the Sparse Linear Regression (SLR) problem, given a $d \times n$ matrix $M$ and a $d$-dimensional query $q$, the goal is to compute a $k$-sparse $n$-dimensional vector $τ$ such that the error $||M τ-q||$ is minimized. This problem is equivalent to the following geometric problem: given a set $P$ of $n$ points and a query point $q$ in $d$ dimensions,

Central Nervous System Tumors Among Infants in Canada: A Report From CYP‐C
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) tumors in infants are rare, pose unique clinical challenges, and lack large‐scale evidence‐based data to guide management. This study seeks to describe CNS tumors in Canadian infants and to compare their outcomes with those of older children.
