A Different Method to Determine the Gamma-ray Linear Attenuation Coefficient

open access: yesInstruments and Experimental Techniques, 2021
Gamma-ray linear attenuation coefficient values of Pb, Fe, and Al absorber materials were investigated. A fast coincidence timing measurement spectrometer was used for this purpose differently from other traditional spectrometers. A solid point 22Na positron source was utilized for the annihilation radiations.

Effects of air pressure changes on gamma linear attenuation coefficient in the air

open access: yesJournal of Science & Science Education, 2017
The measurements of gamma linear attenuation coefficient in the air at variance air pressure has been done. The measurements were performed to determine the effects of air pressure changes on gamma linear attenuation coefficient in the air. The measurements were used Co-60 as the gamma radiation source and LND 72 Geiger-Muller as the radiation detector

Monte Carlo Probability To Determine Attenuation Coefficient In Identifying The Selectivity Properties Of Near-Infrared-Based Materials

open access: yesProtek: Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Elektro
Accurate attenuation coefficient measurements are able to display the nature of selectivity in an image. The methods used to measure the attenuation coefficient are Monte Carlo probability and linear regression models.

Chemical corrosion on gamma-ray attenuation properties of barite concrete

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2011
The variation of photon attenuation coefficient on the chemical media has been investigated. For this purposes the linear attenuations of barite concrete have been measured at 662, 1773 and 1332 keV before leaving the chemical media and following a 6 ...

Evaluating the performance of black sand products on the linear attenuation coefficient in heavyweight concrete

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Black sand, spanning approximately 400 km and exceeding one million cubic meters in volume, can be found along Egypt's Mediterranean coast. For every ton of steel produced, approximately 20 % of steel slag waste is generated, posing a significant ...
