A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Comparison of Chang’s with Sorenson’s attenuation correction method by varying linear attenuation coefficient values in Tc-99m SPECT imaging

open access: yes, 2008
Attenuation (scattering and absorption) of gamma photons in the patient’s body is one of the major limitations among the others in single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT).

Particle size and concentration effects on low energy X-ray attenuation in nanostructure and microstructure materials [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection, 2018
The effects of microsize and nanosize particles in composite structures as well as the incident radiation energy on X-ray attenuation is the focus of this study.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

(Table 1) Attenuation coefficient of lateral propagating light in sea ice, southern Beaufort Sea

open access: yes, 2010
The attenuation property of a lateral propagating light (LPL) in sea ice was measured using an artificial lamp in the Canadian Arctic during the 2007/2008 winter.

Investigation of polymer-based BaO and rGO nanocomposites for application in low energy X ray attenuation

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences, 2019
Polymeric materials can serve as a matrix for the dispersion of nanomaterials with good attenuation features, resulting in lightweight, conformable, flexible, lead-free and easy-to-process materials.

Near K-edge linear attenuation coefficients for amorphous and crystalline GaAs [PDF]

open access: yesRadiation Physics and Chemistry, 2003
Abstract We present tabulated near K-edge linear attenuation coefficients for stoichiometric crystalline and amorphous gallium arsenide. The coefficients were derived from total electron yield photocurrent measurements at the Daresbury Synchrotron Radiation Source and show considerable near-edge structure when compared to curves generated from ...
