Boundary-induced anisotropy of the avalanches in the sandpile automaton
We study numerically the avalanches in a two--dimensional critical height sandpile model with sand grains added at the center of the system. Smaller avalanches near the center of the system are isotropic.

Solving variational inequalities defined on a domain with infinitely many linear constraints [PDF]
We study a variational inequality problem whose domain is defined by infinitely many linear inequalities. A discretization method and an analytic center based inexact cutting plane method are proposed.

ABSTRACT Blinatumomab has been shown to be highly effective for patients with pediatric B‐ALL and has recently become standard of care therapy. Due to its past use in the clinical trial setting, there is limited information available about real‐world administration.

In this paper we derived the fractional order model of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) from its integer model. The PMSG was employing a shaft sensor for the speed sensing and control.

A Simple Cell Model with Multiple Spatial Frequency Selectivity and Linear/Non-Linear Response Properties [PDF]
A model is described for cortical simple cells. Simple cells are selective for local contrast polarity, signaling light-dark and dark-light transitions. The proposed new architecture exhibits both linear and non-linear properties of simple cells.

On the equivalence of linear sets
Let $L$ be a linear set of pseudoregulus type in a line $\ell$ in $\Sigma^*=\mathrm{PG}(t-1,q^t)$, $t=5$ or $t>6$. We provide examples of $q$-order canonical subgeometries $\Sigma_1,\, \Sigma_2 \subset \Sigma^*$ such that there is a $(t-3)$-space $\Gamma

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Time evolution of ADM and CMC center of mass in general relativity [PDF]
It is shown by several authors going back to Huisken-Yau that asymptotically Schwarzschildean time-slices possess a unique foliation by stable constant mean curvature (CMC) spheres defining the so-called CMC center of mass.

Completeness of normed linear spaces admitting centers [PDF]
AbstractIt is shown that a normed linear space admitting (Chebyshev) centers is complete. Then the ideas in the proof of this fact are used to show that every incomplete CLUR (compactly locally uniformly rotund) normed linear space contains a closed bounded convex subset B with the following properties: (a)Bdoes not contain any farthest point; (b)Bdoes
