Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Chaos Suppression in Fractional order Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator in Wind Turbine Systems

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2017
In this paper we investigate the control of three-dimensional non-autonomous fractional-order uncertain model of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) via a adaptive control technique.

Global Center Point Splitting: New Linear Node Splitting Algorithm for R-Trees [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة جامعة النجاح للأبحاث العلوم الطبيعية, 2016
We introduce a new linear algorithm to split overflowed nodes of an R-tree index called the Global Center Point Splitting (GCPS) algorithm. The proposed method is an enhancement of the Quadratic splitting algorithm proposed by Guttmann (Guttman A, 1984 ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Myelinated fiber labeling and orientation mapping of the human brain with light-sheet fluorescence microscopy

open access: yesNeuroImage
The convoluted network of myelinated fibers that supports behavior, cognition, and sensory processing in the human brain is the source of its extraordinary complexity.

A remark on continuity of positive linear functionals on separable Banach *-algebras

open access: yes, 2013
Using a variation of the Murphy-Varopoulos Theorem, we give a new proof of the following R.J.Loy Theorem: Let A be a separable Banach*-algebra with center Z such that ZA has at most countable codimension, then every positive linear functional on A is ...

Outcomes of Live Virus Vaccination in Patients With Vascular Anomalies Being Treated With Sirolimus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Live vaccination in patients with vascular anomalies (VA) receiving sirolimus remains controversial due to immunosuppressive effects and theoretical risks. Procedure This single‐center retrospective study included patients with VA less than 4 years old at the start of sirolimus therapy who were incompletely vaccinated.

Behavior of Correlation Functions in the Dynamics of the Multiparticle Quantum Arnol’d Cat

open access: yesEntropy
The multi-particle Arnol’d cat is a generalization of the Hamiltonian system, both classical and quantum, whose period evolution operator is the renowned map that bears its name.

Optically induced lattice deformations, electronic structure changes, and enhanced superconductivity in YBa2Cu3O6.48

open access: yesStructural Dynamics, 2017
Resonant optical excitation of apical oxygen vibrational modes in the normal state of underdoped YBa2Cu3O6+x induces a transient state with optical properties similar to those of the equilibrium superconducting state. Amongst these, a divergent imaginary
