Spectral ℝ-Linear Problems: Applications to Complex Permittivity of Coated Cylinders
A composite-coated inclusion is embedded in a matrix, where the conductivity (permittivity) of the phases is assumed to be complex-valued. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that a non-zero flux can arise under specific conditions related to the

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Contribution to the General Linear Conjugation Problem for A Piecewise Analytic Vector
© 2018, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. Establishing an analogy between the theories of Riemann–Hilbert vector problem and linear ODEs, for the n-dimensional homogeneous linear conjugation problem on a simple smooth closed contour Γ partitioning the complex ...

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

SURFACE ROUGHNESS EFFECT IN THE KINETICS OF HETEROGENEOUS PROCESSES
The review analyzes and gives generalization of the data on the role of geometric inhomogeneity of solid surfaces in the kinetics of heterogeneous processes. The generalized classi cation of rough surfaces on the type and size of irregularities is given.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

The Optimization Problem for Finding the Stress State of a Composite Body
Some problems of temperature field influence on the growth inhibition of variable width slit in the strip (beam) when the strip is bent in the plane by given load system (constant bending moments, uniformly distributed pressure and other) is consider ...

An Analysis of the Stress–Strain State of a Layer on Two Cylindrical Bearings
A spatial problem of elasticity theory is solved for a layer located on two bearings embedded in it. The bearings are represented as thick-walled pipes embedded in the layer parallel to its boundaries.
