An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Analysis of segregated boundary-domain integral equations for BVPs with non-smooth coefficients on Lipschitz domains

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2018
Segregated direct boundary-domain integral equations (BDIEs) based on a parametrix and associated with the Dirichlet and Neumann boundary value problems for the linear stationary diffusion partial differential equation with a variable Hölder-continuous ...

On the covering dimension of the set of solutions of some nonlinear equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
We prove an abstract theorem whose sole hypothesis is that the degree of a certain map is nonzero and whose parametric equations are studied using cohomological mconclusions imply sharp, multidimensional continuation results.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Monotone iterative method for abstract impulsive integro-differential equations with nonlocal conditions in Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
summary:In this paper we use a monotone iterative technique in the presence of the lower and upper solutions to discuss the existence of mild solutions for a class of semilinear impulsive integro-differential evolution equations of Volterra type with ...

Nonlocal semilinear second-order differential inclusions in abstract spaces without compactness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
summary:We study the existence of a mild solution to the nonlocal initial value problem for semilinear second-order differential inclusions in abstract spaces.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Direct and inverse problems for linear relations

open access: yesBruno Pini Mathematical Analysis Seminar, 2013
Direct and inverse problem related to linear differential inclusions in Banach spaces are studied. The abstract results are applied to degenerate partial dierential equations of parabolic type.
