Topologically driven linear magnetoresistance in helimagnetic FeP [PDF]

open access: yesnpj Quantum Materials, 2021
The helimagnet FeP is part of a family of binary pnictide materials with the MnP-type structure, which share a nonsymmorphic crystal symmetry that preserves generic band structure characteristics through changes in elemental composition.

Observation of Linear Magnetoresistance in MoO2 [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials
Magnetoresistance, the change in resistance with applied magnetic fields, is crucial to the magnetic sensor technology. Linear magnetoresistance has been intensively studied in semimetals and semiconductors.

Antisymmetric linear magnetoresistance and the planar Hall effect [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Magnetoresitance (MR) is a tool to study electronic transport and spin order in metals. Here, the authors demonstrate two different microscopic origins of antisymmetric linear MR from both Zeeman-split Fermi surface and anomalous electron velocity.

Huge linear magnetoresistance due to open orbits in γ-PtBi_{2} [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Some single-crystalline materials present an electrical resistivity which decreases between room temperature and low temperatures at zero magnetic field as in a good metal and switches to a nearly semiconductinglike behavior at low temperatures with the ...

Possible scale invariant linear magnetoresistance in pyrochlore iridates Bi2Ir2O7 [PDF]

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
We report the observation of a linear magnetoresistance in single crystals and epitaxial thin films of the pyrochlore iridate Bi _2 Ir _2 O _7 . The linear magnetoresistance is positive and isotropic at low temperatures, without any sign of saturation up

Universal correlation between H-linear magnetoresistance and T-linear resistivity in high-temperature superconductors [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
The signature feature of the ‘strange metal’ state of high-T c cuprates—its linear-in-temperature resistivity—has a coefficient α 1 that correlates with T c , as expected were α 1 derived from scattering off the same bosonic fluctuations that mediate ...

Simple Explanation of Cuprates Linear Magnetoresistance Enigma

open access: yesCondensed Matter, 2022
A simple explanation is given for the linear dependence of electrical resistance on temperature and the linear dependence of the magnetoresistance on the magnetic field in high-temperature superconducting cuprates, which has been mysterious for many ...

Fermi surface topology and signature of surface Dirac nodes in LaBi

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Novel topological state of matter is one of the rapidly growing fields in condensed matter physics research in recent times. While these materials are fascinating from the aspect of fundamental physics of relativistic particles, their exotic transport ...

Large-field magnetoresistance of nanometer scale nickel films grown on molybdenum disulfide

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
The magnetoresistance of thin nickel films grown on molybdenum disulfide was measured in perpendicular magnetic fields as high as 90 kOe. Films with thicknesses of 20 nm provided continuous surfaces for measurement.
