Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

Effects of genotype-by-environment and analysis of potential management interaction on vase life in cut lisianthus

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
This research aimed to analyze how different genotypic and environmental conditions, along with salicylic acid (SA) treatment (management), influence the longevity of cut lisianthus flowers during post-harvest period. Four genotypes (“Arena Green”, “Blue

Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

MIXNO: a computer program for mixed-effects nominal logistic regression [PDF]

open access: yes
MIXNO provides maximum marginal likelihood estimates for mixed-effects nominal logistic regression analysis. These models can be used for analysis of correlated nominal response data, for example, data arising from a clustered or longitudinal design. For

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

Cross-Sectional but Not Prospective Association of Accelerometry-Derived Physical Activity With Quality of Life in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesInternational Journal of Public Health
Objectives: This study aims to quantify the cross-sectional and prospective associations between quality of life (QoL) and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA).Methods: This study was based on the Swiss children’s Objectively measured PHYsical ...
