An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

New Inequalities of the Kantorovich Type for Bounded Linear Operators in Hilbert Spaces
Some new inequalities of the Kantorovich type are established. They hold for larger classes of operators and subsets of complex numbers than considered before in the literature and provide refinements of the classical results in the case when the ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Control Theory for a Class of 2D Continuous-Discrete Linear Systems
This paper considers a general class of 2D continuous-discrete linear systems of both systems theoretic and applications interest. The focus is on the development of a comprehensive control systems theory for members of this class in a unified manner ...

A metric approach to limit operators
We extend the limit operator machinery of Rabinovich, Roch, and Silbermann from Z^N to (bounded geometry, strongly) discrete metric spaces. We do not assume the presence of any group structure or action on our metric spaces.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Iterative Methods for Computing the Resolvent of Composed Operators in Hilbert Spaces
The resolvent is a fundamental concept in studying various operator splitting algorithms. In this paper, we investigate the problem of computing the resolvent of compositions of operators with bounded linear operators.
