A wideband reflective polarization converter based on metasurface is proposed in this letter. This converter can transform a linearly polarized (LP) incident electromagnetic (EM) wave into its orthogonal LP reflection wave in a lower band, and a circularly polarized (CP) reflection wave in a higher band.

Linear Polarization of Distant Quasars
Nature, 1970MEASUREMENTS of the linear polarization of quasars at a wavelength of 49 cm (m49) have already shown that this parameter is correlated with spectral index α (ref. 1). We have now observed a more complete sample of 93 quasars, all of which have measured redshifts.

On polarization for the linear operator channel
2013 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2013We address the problem of reliably transmitting information through a network where the nodes perform random linear network coding and where an adversary potentially injects malicious packets into the network. A good model for such a channel is a linear operator channel, where in this work we employ a combined multiplicative and additive matrix channel.

Linear optics of polarization sheets
Applied Physics B Photophysics and Laser Chemistry, 1987We develop a theory in which thin films or monolayers of strongly polarizable molecules are described as linear polarization sheets. We show that this concept in combination with the transfer matrix method allows a transparent derivation of the transmission and reflection properties of a composite interface.
